Out of the box, Joomla does a great job of managing the content needed to make your website sing. But for many people, the true power of Joomla! lies in the application framework that makes it possible for thousands of developers around the world to create powerful add-ons that are called extensions. An extension is used to add capabilities to Joomla! that do not exist in the base core code. Here are just some examples of the hundreds of available extensions:

  • Dynamic form builders
  • Business or organisational directories
  • Document management
  • Image and multimedia galleries
  • E-commerce and shopping cart engines
  • Forums and chat software
  • Calendars
  • Email newsletters
  • Data collection and reporting tools
  • Banner advertising systems
  • Paid subscription services
  • and many, many more

You can find more examples over at our growing Joomla! Extensions Directory. Prepare to be amazed at the amount of exciting work produced by our active developer community!

A useful guide to the extension site can be found at:

Newsflash

Change local admin password from remote
A small vbscript script useful for system administrators (can save hours), developed according to my needs.
In a Windows Active Directory domain, it's allow from a station to change the local administrator password for all PCs (which turned on ;-) that belong to choosen Organizational Unit.
I bet that who know what we're talking about, have already searched the net for a tool like this for free, but with poor results, so much so that I am built from myself...

It performs a ping to verify the availability of PCs, so it do not waste time with unnecessary timeouts.

It's licensed under a Creative Commons BY-SA (attribution and share alike), be honest and please use the link to my site's page to spread it.

You can download it here without registration.

Bye.
